Who can do it

AAT is perfect if you’re looking to study a professional qualification in accounting and finance. Unlike some other qualifications, there are no entry requirements with AAT, and you don’t need any relevant work experience. Plus, the practical skills and knowledge you gain on your AAT course will complement the chartered syllabus – helping you to succeed.

Additionally, AAT offers a unique opportunity to further your studies to some of the English Universities it is collaborated with. Many AAT students go on and study a degree in accounting or finance, or in an unrelated area. AAT-ACA Fast Track is the collaboration between the Association of Accounting Technicians and ICAEW, designed to inspire AAT students and members to then pursue the ACA, as it recognises those skills gained whilst studying for the AAT. You are able to work-and-study with the AAT, so it’s a great option for many school-leavers, giving you the option to further your study onto the AAT-ACA Fast Track if you wanted to.

What about the cost?

When you “buy” the knowledge is the best investment in your future. Your investment to acquire AAT Qualification it could pay for itself in a matter of months! But the AAT training can cost anywhere from €1.350 to over €2.276 per level depending on your study method.

Ok. What is my starting point?

 

To the completion AAT is broken down into three levels. If you’re currently working in accounts or have studied accountancy before, you may be exempt from some units.

AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting (Level 2)

This Level covers the basic principles of accountancy, such as double-entry bookkeeping, costing and preparing simple financial statements, as well as how to use various accounting software.

The completion period for this level is estimated between 6 and 12 months, depending on the amount of time you commit to studying.

AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting (Level 3)

This is an advance level that builds on your existing knowledge gained at Foundation Level, and includes advance bookkeeping, accounts preparation and ethics in the accounting profession.

The completion period is also estimated between 6 and 12 months.

AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting (Level 4)

This is the last level of the qualification, and covers more complex accounting tasks such as budgeting, drafting financial statements, and financial performance evaluation. During this level, you will have to choose two optional subjects to specialized in. Those subjects are tax, audit, and/or credit management. By the completion of this level, you will be fully qualified. You can apply to become a full AAT member and get the letters MAAT after your name. The estimated completion period is between 9 and 12 months.
