25 May Introduction days for professional qualifications and employment opportunities in Accounting in the Finance Sector
6 June Crowne Plaza Hotel, Limassol
8 June, EIMF premises, Nicosia
A new internationally recognised accounting qualification is to launch in Cyprus. AAT (The Association of Accounting Technicians), an organisation which was created in the United Kingdom, has agreed to launch its qualifications with the European Institute of Management and Finance (EIMF).
As part of the commencement of offering these qualifications in Cyprus, the AAT and the EIMF are holding open introductory days on the 6th of June at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Limassol and on the 8th of June at the EIMF premises in Nicosia. The programme for the two days is shown below. Attendees at these open days will have the opportunity to receive more information about the AAT and the vocational qualifications offered in cooperation with EIMF.
The AAT qualifications cover the needs of a large spectrum of candidates, as they include both a full accounting qualification and also shorter courses designed to help participants acquire skills in business management.
As a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), AAT can provide Cypriot students with qualifications that meet global standards, and support them into successful careers. This will also help support the Cypriot economy by training students who can meet the demands of businesses in Cyprus for skilled financial professionals.
These Accounting qualifications fill in a gap in the market since nothing has been offered in Cyprus until now that covers these specific training needs. By obtaining this qualification, successful candidates will be able to enjoy a successful career in the market since financial management is at the heart of any business, and thus the demand for people with recognised and respected accounting and financial qualifications remains high. AAT students are able to use their newly acquired skills for a successful career since they will now hold knowledge that can be immediately used in the business, playing an important role in the growth and expansion of the firm.
On the same days, participants will be informed on the the many possible routes to qualifying as an ACA. The ACA by ICAEW, which is also offered by the EIMF, is considered the most prestigious qualification in Accounting, and until recently the only way prospective participants in Cyprus could obtain it was after first receiving their university degree. With the EIMF there is now the chance for someone to commence their ACA studies only 18 months after finishing high school.
During the introduction days, participants will learn how they can take advantage of the benefits offered by the abovementioned professional qualifications:
- Become an Accountant in 18 months! Fast track a career in Accounting and Finance, the only sector in Cyprus where employment is rising.
