Presenting to Persuade – Impact and Influence

This is a practical one-day course which highlights the key points to consider when writing and preparing to make a persuasive presentation. You will be introduced to the idea of setting a clear objective and will be given tips on style, structure and content.  You will explore how your image and behaviour impacts on others and influences your success.

The course allows you to develop your presentation skills by practice and you will be expected to give two presentations throughout the day.

By the end of this course you should be able to understand how to:

  • Set an objective for a presentation
  • Tailor a presentation to the audience – Identify appropriate  influencing strategies and persuasion styles
  • Structure a presentation – Participate more effectively in both internal and client meetings
  • Control your nerves – Confidently use both verbal and non-verbal communication to improve interpersonal skills
  • Prepare for your presentation
  • Improve your delivery – Identify appropriate  influencing strategies and persuasion styles
  • Evaluate and analyse your performance

This course is open for those who are interested in improving their presentation skills and how image and behaviour impacts on others and influences success.

Trainer:  Alla Konnikov

Alla Konnikov is an Associate Professor and Director of the Law and Business Programme at the University of Law in London, U.K. Her research and teaching focus on contract and business law, equity and debt finance, mergers and acquisitions and legal skills. As a Director of Law and Business, Alla has helped develop and teach a number of the innovative courses tailored for lawyers, including global economy, financial analysis, corporate finance, marketing and business development, strategy and leadership.

Alla Konnikov earned her undergraduate degree in International Relations and Psychology (Hon) and a MSc in Psychology (Hon) at Columbia University, USA. She received her law qualification (Distinction) from the University of Law London, UK. Prior to pursuing an academic role, Alla worked as an Associate at Clifford Chance UK as well as Merrill Lynch and Boston Consulting, specialising in transactional and advisory work in capital markets, structured finance, derivatives and client services.

Alla is a fluent English and Russian speaker and has working knowledge of German and Hebrew. She is highly driven and motivated educator with over 20 years experience in the legal industry as well as teaching and coaching across different sectors.
