AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting

AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting

Businesses both large and small, public and private, for profit and non-profit, are driven by numbers. Whether it’s tracking sales, managing inventory or undertaking the payroll, smart managers know that keeping tabs on those numbers is crucial.  However, without a solid accounting function, the task can become an organisational nightmare. Organisations seeking a well-rounded accounting function need to consider several aspects of accounting beyond just simple debits and credits.

A competent professional accountant in business is an invaluable asset to the company. These individuals employ an inquiring mind to their work founded on their knowledge of the company’s financials. Using their skills and intimate understanding of the company and the environment in which it operates, professional accountants in business ask challenging questions.

Their training in accounting enables them to adopt a pragmatic and objective approach to solving issues. This is a valuable asset to management, particularly in small and medium enterprises where the professional accountants are often the only professionally qualified members of staff. Accountancy professionals in business assist with corporate strategy, provide advice and help businesses to reduce costs, improve their top line and mitigate risks.

The Advanced Diploma in Accounting (which is also an optional first step towards the AAT Qualification) offers technical training in accounting concepts, techniques, and principles. It explores the international regulatory environment, international financial reporting standards, management accounting tasks, ethics, VAT, integrity and fairness.  Furthermore, it offers all the practical skills professionals need to perform the accounting function with professionalism, integrity and accuracy

Upon completion professionals may decide (optional) to pursue the AAT Accounting Qualification, that  is greatly respected in the financial industry.  AAT members are ambitious, focused accounting professionals. Many of the members occupy senior, well-rewarded positions with thousands of employers – from blue-chip corporate giants to public sector institutions.
