Course Overview
What is a Tort? Torts are a fundamental part of law that we encounter regularly, often without realising it. This programme will provide an essential overview of Cyprus Tort law, exploring how individuals and entities may be held legally responsible for wrongdoings that harm others, either intentionally or due to negligence. A tort is a civil wrong that results in harm or loss, and it may give rise to a legal remedy, such as compensation.
The programme will cover key tort concepts, such as negligence, occupier’s liability, trespass to person and land, and the conditions required to prove liability, as well as examine the distinction between torts and criminal offenses, and the defences available to defendants.
The programme will offer a clear understanding of the principles underlying Cyprus Tort law and how they apply in real-life scenarios.
