The maritime sector is dynamic and volatile, creating the need for continuous monitoring of the latest developments and their effects on the organisation and administration of shipping companies. Cyprus is considered to be among the most competitive shipping centres in the world, making it vital for professionals to stay abreast of these developments.
This programme is built on more than 10 years of day-to-day experience with administration of shipping companies and will focus on practice and basic theory, a combination which enables administrators, not to perform tasks mechanically, but to understand the procedures of the Deputy Ministry of Shipping.
Understanding and improving corporate support services for shipping companies will add to the existing achievement of the international ranking and recognition of Cyprus as a shipping centre.

Industry Expert | Mary-Olive McCluskey
Mary – Olive McCluskey obtained a Law Degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, then pursued an LL.M in European Law (University of Exeter, UK) and was admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association in 2006.
She is a practicing advocate (Nicosia Bar Association) with broad experience in civil and commercial law and litigation and company administrative services. She is a licensed Insolvency Practitioner since 2015 with experience in loan restructuring, debt collection, liquidation and bankruptcy. She is registered in the public registry of CySEC certified persons (CySEC Advanced). She is an active member of the Shipping and Aviation Committee of the Cyprus Bar Association.
Her mother language is Greek and she is fluent in English in the advanced level, registered with the Cyprus Register of Sworn Translators.
The training will be delivered using a practical approach and include power-point presentations, discussion, question, and answers, brainstorming and practice.
Explanation of the necessary theory behind practice shall be made, progressing with a focus on the documents and procedures. Role play and brainstorming shall also be applied during delivery.
This programme may be approved for up to 4 CPD units in Law. Eligibility criteria and CPD Units are verified directly by your association, regulator or other bodies which you hold membership.
The Cyprus Bar Association (CyBAR) has confirmed that this programme is accredited for 4 CPD units.
