EIMF in association with MAP Risk Management Services, a risk management services provider are excited to launch a series of seminars around the upcoming prudential regulation IFR/IFD.
On 16 April, the European Parliament adopted in Plenary a Regulation on the prudential requirements for investment firms (IFR) and a Directive on the prudential supervision of investment firms (IFD). While small and “non-interconnected” firms in particular will benefit from less requirements, the legislation for “systemically relevant” investment firms means no less than equal treatment with credit institutions in the sense of a level playing field – accordingly, they will fall entirely under the previous regulatory framework (i.e. Capital Requirements Regulation 575/2013 (“CRR”). As a result, all other investment firms will no longer be subject to the CRD/CRR framework, which is primarily intended for banks.
The seminar covers the new capital requirements focusing on the new prudential framework for investment firms which will be effected on 26th June 2021.
The scope of this seminar is to provide an overview of the regulatory requirements under the new prudential framework (IFR/IFD), explain the significant changes in the calculation of the capital requirements and other regulatory obligations and summarise the impact on Cypriot Investment Firms’ risk profile by the new regulatory changes.
