Description

Event Details

Construction is a risky business. Every construction project is unique and comes with its own challenges and opportunities. If risks materialize,  they may have a significant impact on the costs, schedule, performance and scope of the project as well as on the health and safety of construction workers and third parties and on the environment.

Managing construction project risks requires careful development and implementation of risk management plans. Risks are not always negative. Through risk management planning, the upside of risk (opportunities) can also be identified and managed, leading to increased profitability, lower costs, timely completion etc.

Based on the ISO 31000 risk management standard and the Project Management Institute project risk management guidelines, the course shall take participants through the process of designing a project risk management plan, the identification and assessment of construction project risks and the strategies for treating and controlling risks. The course shall also guide participants through various types of insurances available for the construction industry.
