The CISI Capital Markets Programme offers a study pathway for practitioners in the capital markets wholesale sector.  The programme was developed with representatives from leading global financial services organisations, both capital markets, wholesale and retail and with input from AFME, WMA, AIC, FOA and accredited training providers to meet the needs of the changing industry.  The objective of the programme is to ensure that candidates have a basic knowledge of the regulations and practices in financial and commodity derivatives, their underlying markets, trading and the principles of investment strategies.

This programme is aimed at practitioners advising and/or dealing in securities and/or derivatives. It is also aimed at people who want to enter the financial services sector or work with clients from the sector.

The qualification is increasingly used as a benchmarking tool by major banks and investment firms to ensure that staff possess practical knowledge which can be immediately applied to business activities.

Qualification Structure

The complete Capital Markets Programme is achieved by passing 2 examinations:

• A Local Regulatory Paper (e.g. CySEC Examinations)
• A Technical CISI Unit like the Derivatives Operations Unit

Yiannos has developed and conducted professional training seminars with emphasis on accounting, finance, management, regulation as well as a variety of business topics to corporate audiences in many countries including Poland, Hungary, Greece, Cyprus, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Egypt, Abu Dhabi etc.

During his career Yiannos has held various managerial and executive positions in a number of multinational companies in Europe and the Middle East in a variety of industries.

He was involved in diverse activities ranging from business development to operations and executive management. He structured complex investment funds, lead organizational change, and implemented regulatory programs across international organizations.

Yiannos holds non–‐executive directorships in a number of financial services organizations and is a member of many international professional bodies. He is currently the Managing Director of Intelion Partners, a boutique firm focusing on management, financial, and investment firm/fund advisory and consulting.
