The Student Welfare Office oversees the functioning of the Advisory Services and the Career Office and overall plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and holistic development of students.
It is dedicated to providing support, guidance, and resources to help students thrive during their time at EIMF and also support their professional development post-graduation.
Some of the key duties and responsibilities of the Student Welfare Office include:
1
Personalised advisory services are offered to students, assisting them in addressing personal, social, and emotional challenges they may face during their academic journey. This could involve counselling, mentorship, and guidance on personal development and decision-making in coordination with the relevant EIMF departments if and when necessary. Furthermore, these services cover counselling services to students dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, or other mental health issues. The Advisory Services have the authority and flexibility to collaborate with external mental health professionals when/if needed.
2
The Student Welfare Office works to foster a diverse and inclusive environment (1) promoting religious and belief equality, (2) providing support to students from different backgrounds and (3) promoting mutual respect and understanding.
3
The office organises orientation programmes for new students, helping them adjust to higher education studies, become aware of EIMF resources, and connect with their peers.
4
The office encourages student involvement in extracurricular activities, the creation and support of student societies that may offer opportunities for personal growth and leadership development.
5
The Student Welfare Office is prepared to handle emergency situations, providing support and assistance to students during crises or critical incidents.
6
The office offers support to students with disabilities, ensuring equal access to educational opportunities.
7
The office serves as an advocate for student needs and concerns, liaising with EIMF administration to address student-related issues.
8
The Career office offers career guidance and support to help students explore potential career paths, identify their strengths, and develop essential skills for the job market. It organizes (both face-to-face and online) workshops, seminars, and career fairs to connect students with the industry.
