On February 2, 2017 CySEC issued Circular C181 indicating the required knowledge that people working on the sector need to obtain (see point C).
The International Introduction to Securities and Investment certificate fully incorporates the requirements of point C. It provides a comprehensive introduction to the financial services industry with a specific focus on investments from a global perspective. It is the first step in the CISI’s qualification pathway, and it is taken by many practitioners as it is the foundation exam for higher level CISI qualifications.
It offers a broad introduction to the financial services industry, with a specific focus on investments from both a local and a global perspective and covers key financial principles and products in depth including assets and markets, equities, bonds, derivatives and investment funds.
The programme is suitable for all staff working in financial services including customer support, administration, finance and accounting, IT, customer services, sales and marketing and HR and training. It will also be of particular interest to those who work with the industry such as corporate lawyers, accountants, and consultants.

Participants can choose to attend the course and will receive a certificate of attendance indicating successful participation indicating topics covered
About the Exam
For participants who choose to take the exam and get the CISI qualification they will need to also register for the exam with CISI.
The qualification is examined via computer based testing and exams take place throughout the year.
The exam consists of 50 multiple choice questions and lasts 1 hour.

Petros is an honours graduate in Accountancy, a Chartered Management Accountant, a diploma-holding member of the Institute of Directors and a Certificate of the Institute of Risk Management. He sits on the Ethics & Risk and Human Resource & Training Committees of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association.
