Course Overview
Projects are the main vehicles of the global economy today and organisations use them to generate business value. As temporary management systems, projects provide flexibility and enable organisations to accurately measure their returns from all their initiatives. Hence, project management has become a strategic competence for organisations looking to secure their competitive advantage and achieve their strategic goals in efficient and effective ways.
The PMP® Certification program covers the aspects of projects for their management and provides an in-depth view of project management best practices, using the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) world renowned framework for Project Management, aligned with the PMBOK® Guide – Eighth Edition. The 8th Edition bridges the structured process guidance of earlier editions with the principles-based flexibility introduced in the 7th Edition, while incorporating emerging topics such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), sustainability, and value-driven delivery.
It prepares participants for the PMP® certification exam which is the most industry-recognized certification for project managers. Beyond preparing participants for the PMP® Certification, it provides participants with the skills to manage projects of any size, across any industry, as well as the basis upon which they can continually improve their skills as project management practitioners.
Training Objectives
The PMP® Certification Program has two major objectives: (1) teach participants how to manage projects using project management best practices aligned with the PMBOK® Guide – Eighth Edition, and (2) prepare those participants interested in becoming PMP® certified for the relevant examination. There are no prerequisites to participate in the program and therefore, the program is ideal for both people new to the project management disciplined as well as experienced project management practitioners.
For the certification purposes, candidates should have at least 36 months of hands-on project management experience (or 60 months without a four-year degree). Under PMI’s updated eligibility requirements, qualifying experience may be drawn from the last 10 years of a candidate’s career. This experience can be acquired after attending the programme as well.
There are no prerequisites to participate in the program and therefore, the program is ideal for both people new to the project management disciplined as well as experienced project management practitioners.
For the certification purposes, candidates should have at least 36 months of hands-on project management experience. This experience can be acquired after attending the program as well.
Training Style
The programme is designed to deliver knowledge via short lectures, practical examples and different forms of exercises aiming to enhance participants’ skills, as well as prepare them for the PMP® examination. A case study is also used to help participants make the connections between the different processes, tools and techniques and to apply the best practices recommended by the PMI’s Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide – Eighth Edition). The programme also incorporates scenario-based exercises reflecting the updated 2026 PMP exam format, with emphasis on value delivery, strategic alignment, and the application of AI-assisted project management tools.
CPD Recognition
This programme may be approved for up to 35 CPD units in Project Management. Eligibility criteria and CPD Units are verified directly by your association, regulator or other bodies which you hold membership.
In-house Training
For groups within the same organisation, this course may be customized to meet any specific needs and delivered in-house.
Andreas Solomou
Andreas Solomou is actively involved in the field of project management and education for more than 18 years. He has successfully managed a large number of product development projects as well as educational programs and currently works with private and government organisations as an external project manager and consultant. He is a holder of a Master’s degree in business management (MBA) and he is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)®, a certified Business Analyst (PMI-PBA)®, Certified Agile Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® and a Certified PRINCE2 Practitioner. He is a Microsoft Certified Trainer specialized in the field of managing projects using project management software applications (MCTS)®. He is one of the founding members of PMI Cyprus Chapter and has served the Chapter for five consecutive years as the Vice President for Professional Development, Education and Events. Andreas specialises in Project Management Standards and served as the National Delegate representing the Cyprus Organisation for Standardisation in the International Standardisation Organisation’s Technical Committee 258 that develops Portfolio, Programme and Project Standards. He is a visiting lecturer at private and public academic institutes and an authorised trainer and consultant of the Cyprus Human Resource Development Authority. He is the author of two books related to project management, one of which is an approved official course material for ECDL’s “Project Planning” Module examination program.

The Human Resource Development Authority (HRDA) of Cyprus is a semi-government governmental organisation that supports the development of workforce skills through training and development initiatives. Eligible training programmes approved by the HRDA may qualify for a subsidy, reducing the participation cost for eligible organisations and individuals, subject to the HRDA's terms and conditions.
