Cyber Security: an overview of the global landscape, the defence strategies and the GDPR

The severe threat of malicious activity such as hacking, defamation of privacy and denial-of-service attacks are becoming more recognised – firms of all size are raising security measures and adapting their internal systems to ensure they are integrating the latest cyber threat intelligence.

Instructor: Dr Demetrios Patsos

Dr. Dimitrios Patsos is serving as the Chief Technology Officer of ADACOM S.A., a leading Cyber Security solutions provider in EMEA. Prior to joining ADACOM, Dimitrios has served as a Security Solutions Manager at Space Hellas S.A., as a Research Fellow at the University of Piraeus, and as a scientific advisor for multiple technology companies. He has more than seventeen years of international experience in information security and has successfully contributed to a vast numbers of complex information security projects for prestigious multinational Telcos, Financial Institutions, Large Enterprises and Governments in Europe, Middle East and Northern Africa, holding technical, consulting and senior management positions. He holds a B.Sc. from the Athens University of Economics and Business (GR), an M.Sc. from Royal Holloway University of London (UK), a Ph.D. from the University of Piraeus (GR), and a large number of professional certifications. Dimitrios’ published work includes more than 15 research articles  for international journals and conference proceedings. Dimitrios is also participating at the Advisory Boards of many international security vendors and he is a member of the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), the Greek Computer Society (EPY) and other industry institutes. He has received multiple awards and grants from governmental, professional and research organizations.
