This webinar will focus on the current efforts by the Cyprus Ministry of Justice and the Cyprus Bar Association to render commercial mediation compulsory for smaller claims, i.e. disputes up to 10,000 EUR.
Thus, the key characteristics of mediation will be analysed, in an effort to explain and evaluate how this mechanism can contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of the dispute resolution regime in Cyprus. Furthermore, the current national legal framework on civil and commercial mediation will be presented, providing a basis for critical discussion of the proposed reforms.
