The main purpose of the seminar is to provide participants with useful information and practical advises in relation to the effective implementation of Occupational Safety & Health Management System, based in Cyprus Laws & Regulations.

Workplace Safety and Health is an area concerned with protecting the safety, health and welfare of people engaged in work or employment. The goals of Occupational Safety and Health programs include to foster a safe and healthy work environment. Occupational Safety & Health may also protect co-workers, family members, employers, customers, and many others who might be affected by the workplace environment.

Occupational Safety and Health can be important for legal, moral and financial reasons. All organizations, by Law, have a duty of care to ensure that employees and any other person who may be affected by the companies undertaking remain safe at all times. Moral obligations would involve the protection of employee’s lives and health. Legal reasons for Occupational Safety & Health practices relate to the preventative, punitive and compensatory effects of laws that protect workers safety and health. Occupational S&H can also reduce employee injury and illness related costs (including medical care, sick leave and disability benefit costs), company insurance expenses and can improve the company’s production, working environment and reputation.

It is important for any effective employer/ manager / director/ supervisor / team leader to have a solid understanding of all the basic legal matters surrounding the Safety & Health Laws and Regulations in Cyprus.

Instructor: Mr Charalambos Papadopoulos


Papadopoulos Charalambos is a Mechanical Engineer (B.Sc.) in Energy sector, member of Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ETEK) and a full member of Cyprus Safety and Health Association (CySHA) and Association of Dangerous Goods Transportation Safety Advisors of Cyprus.

He is an Approved person for providing External Services of Protection and Prevention (EXYPP), from the Department of Labour Inspection (Cyprus) and Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA-ADR) for Road Transportation, from the Department of Road Transport (Cyprus).

He is certified with NEBOSH (International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety) and has experience in various projects at construction industry for Health, Safety & Environment Plans.

Papadopoulos Charalambos is a certified Auditor/Lead Auditor for Management Systems, from STAREGISTER (ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 22000/HACCP, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001), from PECB (ISO 22301/ Business Continuity) and has knowledge and experience for ISO 27001/ISMS, ISO 31000/Risk Management, Safety Playgrounds, Crisis Management, Energy Management, Energy Saving, Building Energy Efficiency and Energy Audits for Transportations (Category C).

Also he is pre-Certified Trainer (ISO/IEC 17024) and he is registered Steward at Cyprus Sports Organization and takes issue Safety Certificates (for open and closed stadiums), for various events and sports events.
