This practical training explores the legal and regulatory landscape of consumer protection and contractual fairness in the EU, with emphasis on modern consumer credit contracts and financial services. Through a practical approach, participants will examine key legal provisions, regulatory expectations, and risks associated with consumer legislative provisions and operational terms. The training integrates recent EU-level developments, including the new Consumer Credit Directive (EU) 2025/2225, and addresses how financial institutions can ensure transparency, fairness, and legal certainty in consumer relationships.
Reference will also be made to the Consumer Protection Law of 2021 (112(I)/2021) of Cyprus, as applicable, highlighting both EU and Cyprus legal approaches.

Her doctoral thesis, ‘Legal Relations in Crowdfunding in Cyprus: Legal Issues and Challenges in the Digital Age,’ provides an innovative and groundbreaking legal analysis of the legal framework for Crowdfunding in EU and Cyprus, published as a practical legal guide with Nomiki Bibliothiki in 2024. Elena is a dynamic leader in training, guiding teams through legal and regulatory landscapes, simplifying complexities and spearheading success in the financial sector. Fluent in Greek, English, and French, she brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience, making her exceptionally effective in delivering practical legal training and advice. Elena is also a certified mediator and a member of the Cyprus Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution. Since 2011, she has served as Legal Counsel for credit institutions in Cyprus, advising on various legal matters. Currently, she holds the position of Assistant Manager at a systemic bank in Cyprus, specializing in Regulatory Compliance. Elena is also a professional member (MiCA) of the International Compliance Association (ICA) and a Founding Member and Board Member of the Cyprus Compliance Association (CCA).
