[Nicosia, 8 December 2023] In response to the dynamic challenges facing the services sector, EIMF is proud to introduce its pioneering postgraduate programme, the ‘MSc in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)’.

Good GRC practices have become paramount in recent decades, especially following high-profile corporate failures and financial crises, where responsibilities extend to both private corporations and state institutions (supervisors and regulators).

The EIMF programme aligns with this paradigm shift, emphasising the importance of GRC and is designed by considering the current and future needs of the sector. The main objective is to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills essential to navigate intricate regulatory landscapes, proactively manage risks, enhance transparency and contribute to the development of resilient governance structures, thereby safeguarding the long-term stability of the services sector.

The programme offers a comprehensive combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Modules are delivered by a distinguished team of academics with input from experienced and established industry professionals. As part of the course delivery, students have the opportunity to prepare for professional certifications from international associations such as: AGRC (Association of Governance, Risk and Compliance), ACAMS (Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists) and CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment). Additionally, students can choose to attend professional training seminars from the wide range of seminars offered by EIMF. It is also important to note that students have the opportunity for professional networking through the extensive EIMF network. Finally, the opportunity to participate in research activities and events organized by the EIMF Good Governance Center adds another valuable dimension to the learning experience.

The curriculum includes modules such as Research Methods, Business Ethics, Principles and Practice of Finance, International and European Financial Regulation, Regulatory Compliance and Reporting, Financial Risk Management, Corporate Governance, as well as a Master Thesis.
