Building on the momentum of an exciting start to the year the second semester at EIMF has been nothing short of dynamic and inspiring!  The autumn months have been abuzz with activity, featuring over 170 open courses, a host of innovative new topics, engaging free events, a remarkable conference, new collaborations, academic accreditations and numerous in-house learning initiatives, all designed to equip individuals and their organisations with essential knowledge, practical skills, industry best practices, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Extending Appreciation with an Abundance of Complimentary Activities

EIMF endeavours to extend appreciation at every opportunity through valued learning opportunities, and this semester was no exception!  Over 50 complimentary events and activities were held, featuring more than 150 speakers and discussants, engaging over 5,000 learners.

A rewarding highlight was the exceptional summer eLearning opportunity, where individuals had the chance to upskill with the EIMF’s unique Microlearning Training Bundle—featuring 95 microlearning courses and 30 hours of learning across a wide range of in-demand categories. It was an exciting and rewarding experience!

A New Standard of Excellence

This semester, EIMF proudly earned a second accreditation for its Masters Programme in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) from the Chartered Governance Institute of the UK and Ireland (CGI), granting the programme prestigious dual-award recognition.

EIMF is honoured to be the first and only institution outside the UK to receive this prestigious CGI accreditation, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to excellence, and further enhancing the value and recognition of the programme and solidifying its standing in the field of governance and compliance.

The CGI, globally recognised as a leading authority in governance, offers EIMF graduates an internationally acclaimed qualification that sets them apart in their careers!

Welcoming New Partnerships

EIMF unveiled new strategic partnerships this semester, further strengthening community relationships and expanding opportunities for further educational offerings, growth and innovation.

In a significant move towards collaboration, EIMF and the Cyprus Organisation for Standardisation (CYS) formalised their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement focuses on fostering cooperation in key areas such as Corporate Governance, Sustainable Finance, Financial Management, and Compliance.  Both organisations have committed to joint initiatives in training, research, and the exchange of technical expertise, with the goal of advancing knowledge and best practices in these fields.

Furthermore, EIMF signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Municipality of Strovolos, marking a significant step towards strengthening their collaboration. The MoU aims to promote the exchange of ideas and expertise, alongside the organisation of joint initiatives, whilst focusing on providing educational programmes for both the public and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Strovolos.

These new partnerships further strengthen EIMF’s dedication to providing the local community and professionals with valuable educational opportunities and collaborative programmes that foster growth, development, and meaningful impact.

Continuing the Success of the EIMF Directors Series by the Centre for Good Governance

Building on the engaging discussions of the first semester, the autumn season brought even more thought-provoking conversations and debates with prominent industry leaders and experts.

Key topics this semester included “Board Evaluation.” “Can ESG Stand the Test of Time? and “Sitting at the Table: Why Gender Diversity Matters in Boardrooms.”

 These sessions provided a valuable opportunity for senior professionals to come together, share perspectives, and engage in meaningful dialogue. The insights exchanged were both enlightening and impactful for individuals and the organisations they lead!

Memorable Moments of the Academic School

• The Annual Advisory Council Meeting: Building on the success of last year’s inaugural meeting, EIMF hosted the Advisory Council’s annual gathering this semester. The council, comprising distinguished experts and thought leaders, discussed EIMF’s ambitious vision and innovative strategy, reinforcing its commitment to excellence in governance, risk, and compliance education, whilst at the same time highlighted exciting developments and plans for new academic offerings. Their expertise enhances educational standards, further strengthening EIMF’s reputation as a leading academic school.

   

• Exploring Academic Opportunities: EIMF successfully hosted its Open Day, welcoming prospective students to explore the exciting academic programmes, and guiding individuals toward success! As an accredited higher education institute, EIMF introduced its Undergraduate Diploma in Accounting and Financial Management and the Postgraduate Master Programme in Governance, Risk and Compliance.  Attendees had the chance to meet faculty, learn about the curriculum, explore admissions requirements, and discover funding opportunities, all while connecting with the vibrant EIMF community. The event was both informative and inspiring!

   

• The Launch of the Academic Year: September marked the beginning of a new academic year at EIMF’s Academic School, with the launch of the Undergraduate Diploma in Accounting and Financial Management and the Master Programme in Governance, Risk, and Compliance. EIMF kicked off the academic year with great excitement and celebrated in style with a delightful cocktail reception!  It was a wonderful opportunity for friends, colleagues, students and partners, as well as the Academic Council to come together to reflect on the academic achievement – including the accreditation of the Master programme by the Chartered Governance Institute of UK and Ireland (CGI) – and enjoy drinks and great conversations in a relaxing atmosphere!

The Conference – Shaping the Future of Regulatory and Anti-Financial Crime Compliance

The ACAMS Cyprus Chapter and EIMF teamed up to host a dynamic event that focused on the critical challenges in regulatory compliance, digital resilience, and financial crime prevention. This unique gathering brought together leading experts, policymakers, and industry figures to explore emerging regulations like the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and the EU AI Act, while offering practical approaches to tackling the complexities of the financial services sector.

The event featured sessions on technological advancements, artificial intelligence, and international sanctions, equipping participants with actionable strategies for compliance and the integration of innovative tools to manage risks in an ever-evolving landscape

Continuing Success – Next Generation EU Digital Skills Initiative:

EIMF Holdings Ltd (European Institute of Management & Finance) and EIMF Technology Institute Ltd (New Horizons Cyprus) have continued to deliver funded training programmes on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Power BI platforms throughout the second semester with great success.

This initiative is part of the “Training Programmes for the Acquisition of Digital Skills” project, financed by the Recovery and Resilience Facility of the European Union (NextGenerationEU) under the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan.  The project, overseen by the Human Resource Development Authority (HRDA) of Cyprus and these esteemed programmes will continue into 2025.

Supporting Professional Associations and Communities

EIMF is proud to have collaborated with numerous local and international associations and committees this semester, strengthening partnerships, supporting events, and advancing shared initiatives.

Key highlights  included the launch of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute (CFA)  web portal for EIMF students – EIMF-CFA Institute – providing an unique opportunity to connect with a professional network of knowledgeable and ethical investment management professionals.

Additionally, EIMF played an active role in the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA) training committee and continued to support and promote the high standards of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI).

EIMF also partnered as an educational ally with the Association of Cyprus Banks (ACB) and supported events organised by the Project Management Institute (PMI), among others.

These collaborations underscore EIMF’s dedication to fostering professional excellence and community engagement.

Looking Ahead to 2025 | EIMF’s 10 Year Milestone

The year 2025 is set to be an extraordinary chapter for EIMF, filled with dynamic activities, groundbreaking initiatives, and joyous celebrations.

With community, creativity and innovation at the forefront, 2025 will bring new opportunities to connect, learn, and grow—making it a year to remember for all who join us on this journey.  Here’s a very tiny glimpse!

A Plethora of Activity: Commemorating the 10-year anniversary, the EIMF calendar will feature an abundance of activity throughout, kicking off the year with an HR Breakfast gathering, and moving forward with a range of fresh courses, webinars, free events, conferences, Erasmus opportunities, partnerships, community initiatives, and many more surprises, all covering innovative and in-demand topics to keep the learning experience dynamic throughout the year.  Looking forward to welcoming everyone!

Enhancing Academic Excellence: Building on this exciting momentum, three new academic programmes will be submitted for accreditation to the Cyprus Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. These include two postgraduate programmes, European Financial Regulation and European Economic Governance and Policy, along with an undergraduate programme, Diploma in Corporate Administration and. These initiatives further solidify EIMF’s position at the forefront of academic excellence, driving progress and creating new opportunities for learners.

Expanded Professional Certifications: The prestigious CISI & ICAEW Diploma in Corporate Finance will be launched, providing professionals with an opportunity to gain the expertise and practical skills required in the dynamic field of corporate finance, while earning an internationally recognised qualification to support career progression. This addition will further enrich our portfolio of professional qualifications and certifications, offering more pathways for individuals to advance their careers and expertise.

Broadening Executive Training: eLearning opportunities will continue to grow, enhancing self-paced learning for individuals and offering flexibility, allowing learners to tailor their educational experience to their schedules!  Furthermore, in addition to over 160 open-public courses offered during the last semester alone (Live Online and Face-to-Face), our executive learning offerings will be further enriched with over 40 brand-new courses spanning the areas for which EIMF is renowned — Accounting, Audit, Tax, Corporate Governance & Ethics, Soft Skills, Management, Leadership, Data Protection & Privacy (GDPR), Financial Crime, AML, FinTech, Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, Professional Qualifications, CySEC Exam Preparation Courses, , Legal, Funds, Investments, Corporate Administration, Risk, IT, and more!
