Athos Myrianthous is an experienced compliance and financial services professional with extensive, practical expertise in Investment Funds, Investment Fund Managers, and other regulated entities of the broader financial eco-space. His core areas of specialisation include Regulatory Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Governance, and Licensing across the regulated financial services sector. He is currently the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) of ECM Fund Management Ltd, an Alternative Investment Fund Manager focusing on private equity, industry-agnostic strategies and part of the ECM Partners Group, which has a track record of nearly 1 billion invested capital in its various deals. Prior to his current role, Athos held senior compliance leadership positions at several Alternative Investment Fund Managers (AIFMs), including MAP Fund Management Services Ltd and Fortified Capital Ltd, implementing and managing regulatory compliance frameworks for a wide spectrum of alternative investment funds pursuing diverse investment strategies, across multiple industries. His earlier career includes serving for almost a decade as Manager, Fund Services and Head of Investor Compliance at BDO Ltd, part of the BDO International network. Athos holds an LLB (Hons) in Law from Queen Mary University of London, an LLM from Westminster University, and an MSc sh. finance from Cass Business School, City, University of London. He is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association and holds both CySEC’s Advanced Certificate in Financial Services Legal Framework and CySEC’s AML Certification. He is also a long-standing member of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA) and has actively contributed to several of its technical committees and working groups, including the AML Technical Committee and the Strategic Committee on Crypto-Funds. Currently he serves as a member of the Regulatory and Legal Technical Committee of CIFA. Athos is an Expert Trainer with the European Institute of Management and Finance since 2018, delivering seminars, workshops and trainings on investment funds, regulatory compliance and licensing. He is also a co-author and Trainer of the Fund Administration Professional Certificate of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI).
