Orestis Kargotis
With a Graduate Degree in Environmental Biology and Natural resource management from the University of Utrecht, Orestis has experience in EU environmental policy making, research and implementation of conservation actions at national level and delivering educational trainings/workshops related to environmental topics for more than 5 years. He has been an advocate for sustainability throughout his career, researching sustainable agriculture in Spain through the Commonland Foundation, organizing sustainability events at the European Parliament, and contributing to the civil society sector for 5 years. As a teacher and trainer at the Cyprus Environmental Studies Centre, he taught students about Ecology and the environment through the direct contact with nature but also, as a project manager, created and trained the youth movement Generation KlimACT to demand for more climate action from politicians in Cyprus and the EU. Finally, he has been a panellist and guest trainer at numerous sustainability related events including events organised by the University of Cyprus, Neapolis University and EU funded projects such as LIFE IP Pandoteira and Active Minds.
